Only one Catskill peak stands taller than Hunter Mountain, set high among its fellow 3500' mountains. This eight-mile trail begins at the beautiful Diamond Notch Falls before winding through thick forest as we climb. The ascent occurs at a mild grade, free from any technical sections, but that certainly doesn't make it easy. Once at the peak, you'll be able to ascend the historic fire tower for unobstructed views above treeline before the trek back down.

The reservoir is in the eastern end of the Catskill Park, and is credited with providing 40% of the City of New York with water. The Walkway provides a 5.4 Mile walk with panorama views of the catskills mountains. The parking spot to enter the trail is just 21 minutes from ZINK Cabin.

The Wallkill Valley Rail Trail is a 23.7-mile rail trail and linear park that runs along the former Wallkill Valley Railroad rail corridor in Ulster County, New York. It's about 35 minutes from ZINK cabin with great local food at near the trail head.

Just 8 Minutes from the cabin by Car the trailhead to the Sundown Wild Forest is the closest hike to ZINKo Cabin. A great swimming hole in the summer is just two miles from the trailhead.
